Question 65

Does this affect resale?

Sprinklers look like a selling feature, but no study establishes what they do to a sale price. A 2014 Harris Poll commissioned by the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition found 74% of homeowners more likely to buy a home with sprinklers, and 69% who thought they added value. In Scottsdale, Arizona, realtors told the fire department that sprinklered homes were easier to sell. Those are stated preferences and one market's experience, not measured Colorado sale prices or a guaranteed return for an individual homeowner.
