Question 3
What share of a new home would sprinklers cost?
Between 1% and 2%. Against a median new home price of $501,760, a standalone system runs 1.21% and a multi-purpose system 1.79%. The National Association of Home Builders’ own 2024 survey puts the average new home at $665,298; a sprinkler system at Colorado’s documented rate on a house that size is about 1.9% of the sale price. Per sprinklered square foot, Colorado installations run $2.59 to $6.01, which is less than the going rate for hardwood floors, appliances, or landscaping.
